Bright Eyes Sanctuary is a 501c3, nonprofit, charitable animal sanctuary and funded solely by donations from the public. ******* Oliver is a former lab rabbit. He is about 5 years old. He was used to teach students how to handle rabbits and give them injections, groom and do blood draws. They were not given any harmful substances. Oliver is an absolute lover. He just loves people! He loves to be kissed on the nose and talked to and told stories and he'll be glad to sit in your lap and listen to your troubles. Oliver is a wonderful rabbit, but he really has no interest in other rabbits for friends, they seem foreign to him and make him nervous. He just wants to be with people and be doted on by them and hang out and chew some hay. He is a wonderful gentleman. He is a happy, jolly fellow, very patient and congenial. Many New Zealand Whites are like this, so you're lucky if one is in your life because it is a fragile and rare bloom of a person who can look into those pink eyes and see the pink as the color of love. Oliver is so patient and such a nice gentleman, he is a wonderful bunnyman to have around. He has been waiting awhile. Oliver should not be removed from his foster home because his early experiences as a lab rabbit have caused him to become institutionalized - he experiences great fear when put into a new situation and reacts with fear-based aggression. Nevertheless, he is very happy right where he is and he is treasured for his wonderful qualities. He just can never leave the orphanage.
