Bright Eyes Sanctuary is a 501c3, nonprofit, charitable animal sanctuary and funded solely by donations from the public. ******* Orion is a two year old mini-rex with honey colored hotot markings - that means eyerings and colored ears. It also means he is at risk for a condition called cow pile syndrome or megacolon - for some reason the hotot marking gene affects the digestive system of a rabbit carrying this gene, but not all the time. From what we've been able to observe so far, Orion has the condition. There is not test for this condition, only presentation of symptoms which in this case means flare-ups of oversized and undersized poops at the same time. It is potentially life-threatening if the rabbit is stressed out and doesn't have his environment stabilized immediately. Orion will need to go to a home with an experienced rabbit caretaker who will lovingly care for him and keep his needs in mind. He doesn't seem suited to have a companion as meeting other rabbits causes him to have flare ups. To adopt, please fill out our application and we will call contact you within a few days.
