Socks has had no accidents in his foster home. He is a complete gentleman in the house and well behaved. He is active and would love a home with someone that jogs. Socks was found by a dog-lover in South Carolina hanging around a gas station and eating out of trash cans.  This pup ate only when the customers would feed him.  Poor pup!  Thankfully, Socks was saved! Despite his rocky road, Socks is one of the most affectionate and loving pups you'll ever meet!  He loves ear scratches and belly rubs.  He is a total lovebug!  Socks is a sensitive guy who does great with other dogs and with kids.  He will be a GREAT family dog! Socks has gone a long way from being a 'parking lot pup'-- are you the right family to give him the loving home and family he deserves? Socks is heartworm positive and will require treatment upon his arrival.  Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets.  After being treated, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Like most shelter dogs, Socks may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.  The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of transport and routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and heartworm treatment.
