Zak is another formerly chained dog, having spent the last 3 years of his life living like that he was able to get into rescue, where it's now our mission to give him the home life he deserves. Zak is his new name to start his new life. Zak has plenty of pent up energy, but just as much love for his new companions! Since he has never lived in a home before he is enrolled in "House Manners 101" in his current foster home. This includes house and crate training him, teaching him how to walk "politely" on his leash, and how to "relax" when it's time to chill with a human. A human that isn't going to just put food in his bowl and walk away. Zak hs been neutered, and is current on his shots. Unfortunately after being chained, he is heartworm positive. He will be undergoing treatment soon. He can still be adopted before treatment, and his new home can follow through with this. Please read below for some of our adoption policies: To meet any of our animals outside of a scheduled event, an approved application is required. The adoption donation is $200.00 unless stated otherwise. There is an additional, non-refundable $50 charge on any approved adoption when the adoptive home is located between 60-100 miles from Leonardtown, MD. If we agree to an adoption further than that there will be an additional charge. Any adoption further than 60 miles is at the discretion of the Board due to availability of volunteers.
