These two wonderful playmates came to RPO through very sad circumstances. The owner of these beautiful playful pups was forced to surrender them after his significant other became pregnant and insisted that he surrender his dogs. He had been paying to keep them at a local kennel in hopes that she would reconsider her mandate but unfortunately she only began demanding even more that he find another home for the dogs or take them to a shelter because the money he was spending on kenneling his dogs needed to be returned into the household. Fearful of what would happen to his dogs in a shelter or if he tried to place them himself, he contracted RPO upon a referral and RPO agreed to take his beloved companions in order to re-home. The surrender was very tearful but RPO made him a promise that these two would only go to the PERFECT FOREVER home. Lexi and Louie are both 3 years old. The previous owner actually rescued Louie (the handsome harlequin) from an abusive owner. Louie unfortunately bears a scar of his horrific puppy hood. Louie has only one eye, the other taken out by the abuser. Louie is neutered and will soon be up to date on all shots. Lexi is a Blue Pit and has not been spayed as of yet but will be soon. She is perfect in everyway. Both dogs are extremely loving and very affectionate and playful. They are very well tempered and seem to get along with others although all interaction thus far has been through a fence but they have not shown the least bit of aggression towards anyone and/or anything. They are a little overweight and we are working on getting them slim and trim for their debut with any potential adopters. Both could use a little obedience training but they respond very well already to voice commands. We would like to place them with owners who are bully breed savvy and who know this loyal loving breed so that they will continue to thrive and reach their greatest potential as the perfect family pet companion(s). We are hoping to re-home them together since they were raised from together as puppies. Also the bond is very strong between these two as it was Lexi who with the help of her dedicated loving owner helped Louie overcome his traumatic past. We will however CONSIDER adopting separately. Home evaluations are required and a two week trial period is mandatory before any adoption is finalized.
