Mallory is a sweet, shy little girl who was rescued as a stray and brought to a high-kill rural shelter. She was brought into a foster home where she was starting to get over her shyness around other dogs and people, when she escaped! For two weeks Mallory wandered the streets of Takoma Park, Hyattsville, and D.C., until one of our wonderful volunteers found her and brought her back Mallory is now coming back around and warming up to the people who give her affection. She is housetrained, doesn't bark, and has not an aggressive bone in her body. She is pure sweetness! We don't know what she's been through to make her so shy, but it is beautiful to see her come out of her shell. Because Mallory is a bit shy in new situations, she would need to be socialized a bit more. She just needs to be shown gentle treatment so she can grow in confidence. Obedience classes would do wonders for this girl! We found out that she got along really well with the other dog she met and with the cats that she met here. We guessed her age to be about 5-6 years old and she weighs 47 pounds. Now she is a bit timid with new people, so don't take it personally when you come to see her.
