Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. She gave birth to 10 pups two months ago and then was left at a rural home when her owner died of cancer. Poor Dixie needs some TLC...someone who can understand why she is shy and give her the love she needs to come around. Dixie must go to a home with another outgoing pooch to show her the ropes. Dixie must also go to a home with no children because they scare her....and she need a fenced yard (even if it is tiny) while she learns to get comfortable going for walks on a leash.
