The person or family who adopts Jillian will be the lucky ones, indeed! Jillian is a sweet, very intelligent and sensitive dog. Of all the dogs she has fostered, Jillian's foster Mom reports that Jillian might be the very best! Jillian knows basic commands, and is extremely trainable. We hope whoever adopts her will take advantage of her intelligence through further training. Jillian is extremely loyal and responsive, and loves nothing more than a good game of fetch at the dog park, a hike in the woods, or just "hanging out" close to her humans. Jillian is very in-tune to her person and pays close attention to him/her. She is somewhat of a "perfect" dog, in that she is always ready for a good walk, run or romp, but just as happy to settle down and relax at home when it's that time. She is house-trained and crate-trained, although does not need the crate in her foster home and can be left home alone uncrated, like the resident dog. She lives with a cat and her reaction is to sniff, then ignore her. She has not tried to chase or be at all aggressive with the cat. She also lives with 2 other dogs right now and gets along very well with them. Jillian was mistreated by her former owner so she can be a bit shy when meeting new people, so just needs to take it a little slow. She gets nervous when new people barge into her home without taking the time to "meet" her (but then again, who wouldn't?), so she needs a little bit of patience with that as well. Can you give Jillian a chance at the life she deserves by making her your companion or part of your family? She will pay you back with love, companionship and her undying loyalty.
