This friendly guy is a beagle/chow mix and looks a bit like a corgi. Jefferson is about 7-10 years old and weights 35-40 lbs. He's beyond the puppy years and puppy habits yet has many years of love and affection yet to give! One of dozens of dogs living in an outdoor only, rural shelter, Jefferson just wants a warm loving home to call his own. Our volunteers were just at the shelter where they report that Jefferson is a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys the company of people and other dogs. Could he be the dog you've been looking for to add to your family?Though we don't yet know how Jefferson behaves with other dogs, cats or children we can find out for you. Jefferson will be brought to the DC area for the right adoptive or foster home.
