Description
Pedro the 22 year old Mexican Redheaded Amazon is an affectionate, happy bird. Pedro likes baths and having his head scratched. He makes nice purring noises when he is happy. Like all parrots, Pedro can be loud at times, but he responds well to positive reinforcement for this. He says "Hello" and sometimes whistles. Like many birds Pedro really wants to bond to one person -- his adoptive home will need to help him avoid that type of unhealthy behaviour. Pedro needs a little encouragement learning to play independently, but he's starting to really get the hang of it, including foraging. Pedro is loving his new diet of very healthy foods! He likes carrots, beets, fruits, lentils, grains, and Harrison's pellets and hopes that's what you're serving for dinner when he comes home with you!
