Job Responsibilities
To manage the annual financial plan process - including formulating and administering the budget - develop and formulate recommendations regarding the organization and administration of operating budget programs, and provide cost information for credit union products and services. Manages the corporate travel program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Makes recommendations on strategic financial issues: coordinates with the Senior Vice President Financial Operations on the Credit Union's three-year financial plan. Consults with senior management to ensure budgetary adjustments have been maintained in accordance with program changes and to facilitate long-term planning. Directs the preparation of the Annual Financial Plan (AFP) and associated revisions. Ascertains budgetary requirements to meet organizational strategic goals: reviews human resources, material and financial resource requirements with senior management and recommends changes.
* Manages corporate cost accounting operations and administers cost accounting policies, systems and procedures. Determines the cost of products, services, activities, and programs. Determines projected cost of proposed new MSCs, products and programs.
* Performs special projects. Develops new programs and procedures to enhance branch performance and efficiency. Coordinates accounting functional requirements with the Financial Business Solutions Branch, Information Systems Department and external contractors.
* Manages the corporate travel office.
* Performs supervisory duties: selects employees; ensures adequate staffing; prepares and conducts performance appraisals; counsels employees and oversees training and development activities.



Candidate Qualifications
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
1. Experience in planning and carrying out the preparation, administration, and analysis of budgetary programs for a large organization
2. Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and problems of organization planning with regard to budgeting, cost accounting and fiscal management
3. In-depth knowledge of economic and financial principles and practices, financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data including Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) standards
4. Thorough understanding of the implications of financial information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
5. Skill in determining how money will be spent to get work done and accounting for expenditures
6. Skill in identifying the strength and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems
7. Skill in reading and interpreting various financial reports
8. Strong research, analysis, and problem-solving skills
9. Skill in guiding and directing subordinates in accomplishing detained technical analysis
10. Skill in communicating complex financial information, including oral presentations and the preparation of written reports
11. Skill in maintaining working relationships with organizational units within the credit union
12. Ability to work accurately with numbers and interpret statistical information

Additional Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
13. College degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
14. Designation as a Certified Public Account (CPA) or MBA
