Job Responsibilities

Manages the Company’s external reporting function, requiring expert-level knowledge in rules and regulations as well as filing requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Provides executive management advice and support for external reporting and external SEC filings. Stays abreast of all changes and activities in the Company and the industry in order to insure that their effects are properly incorporated into the company reporting. Manages the coordination, preparation, and filing of periodic reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission, including performance of necessary accounting research supporting this process.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Manages preparation and detailed review of financial reports prepared for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks and other reports as necessary.

2 Manages cross-organizational integration and cooperation in order to coordinate the drafting of both non-financial and financial sections of SEC reports (e.g. management's discussion, footnotes) and other reports as necessary.

3 Establishes and continuously improves report preparation systems, policies, and processes Conducts accounting research, interprets and assists in developing Company policy on GAAP standards and compliance with SEC rules and regulations.

5. Complies with existing controls and procedures related to Section 404 of Sarbanes Oxley by ensuring that financial information included in financial statements and footnote disclosures is properly supported and documented, and that formal policies and procedures are updated to depict current processes within the Financial Reporting area.

Researches and interprets complex accounting transactions and applies this knowledge in analyzing, summarizing, and reporting financial data to the SEC.



7. Manages staff. Provides coaching, training, and performance appraisals for direct reports

Candidate Qualifications
Software:
• Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications with in-depth knowledge of advanced functions and capabilities
• MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint

Databases:

• Advanced skills in database applications with in-depth knowledge of advanced functions and capabilities
• MS Access

Other Job Specific Skills:

• Demonstrated proficiency of written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency of presentation skills
• Well organized with proven ability to multi-task and shift priorities
• Demonstrated proficiency of interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial disclosure requirements
• Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: BS/BA Finance or Accounting.
MBA preferred.
• Licensures: CPA required
• Relevant Work Experience: 10 yrs relevant work experience; including 5 yrs SEC reporting and 3 yrs management experience.
